Orlando Weather

The Orlando Weather reports are possibily the most sought after out of any of the tourist resorts around the world. This is because Orlando, Florida attracts about 50 million visitors per year, the majority of which are wanting to know one thing, what is the Orlando Weather like at present. It's the first thing the captain of your plane will tell you when you take off and the last thing he will tell you when he lands you safely on the tarmac in Florida.

The Orlando Climate in general has the characteristics of a tropical climate. It has two main seasons each year, one is hot and rainy, the other is dry and warm. The hot and rainy season coincides with the Atlantic Hurricane season and runs from June to September making this the less popular time of year for European visitors to arrive in Orlando. The dry and warm season runs typically from October through to May

Hurricanes are not uncommon in Orlando, however due the location of Orlando (44 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and 77 miles from the Gulf of Mexico) the Hurricanes that do hit tend to carry less force. Hurricanes do still impact the Orlando Weather and Climate however, as proved in 2004 with the arrival of Hurrican Charley.

The Orlando area has also been the victim of Tornadoes, with the February 1998 Tornado being particularly bad and more recently the Tornado in February 2007 which killed 21 people.
