St James Cathedral is located in downtown Orlando and functions as the seat of the Diocese of Orlando. The land on which the Cathedral stands was purchased in may 1881 and secured for the first Catholic Church to be built in Orlando, Florida. Although the Church celebrates it's beginning date as 1885, it was not completed until June, 1891, under the guidance of an interim pastor, Father Joseph J. Creed.

In 2010 over $10 million was spent upgrading the building which included the fitting of a new stained glass window commemorating the contribution of Bishop Thomas Wenski to building improvements.

The Orlando public library is the largest library in the state of Florida. The 290'000 square foot facility located in Downtown Orlando is famous for it's genealogy department, located on the third floor and well renowned as being the best in the South East.

The Orlando Science Center has been established for over fifty years now and is a fantastic facility for you and your family to visit on your florida vacation. The Orlando Museum of Art is constantly changing it's exhibits which is fantastic if you have been before as you can be sure to experience something new on your next visit. At present until the 30th October 2011 the Museum is displaying the paintings and sculptures of Tony Robbins, spanning over fourty years. Mad Cow Theatre is located in the Downtown area of the City of Orlando and plays host to the Annual Orlando Cabaret Festival. Budding actors from Central Florida come here to try their hands at auditioning for the chance to appear in one of the magnificent productions.
