Fishing

Fishing in Florida...

It is true that when most people book their trip to Florida they tend to be more enthusiastic about seeing Mickey and Shamu and enjoying the Florida weather than going out to test themselves againts some of Florida's finest species the waters hold. Until they get there that is......... a trip to Orlando, Florida can provide a visitor with an angling experience unrivalled to anything they have previously experienced. Fantastic opportunities to catch Bass in the lakes surrounding Orlando is to be had by all, in Lake Toho and Lake Kissimme and the greatest rod bending experience of your life is awaiting on a Shark hunting trip to the Florida keys.

The moment you check into any hotel in Orlando Florida you will notice sales desks filled with leaflets to all the world famous attractions like Universal Studios Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, however take a closer look and you will find plenty of companies offering Bass fishing in Florida trips less than an hour away from International Drive Orlando, and more deep sea and Shark fishing trips then you can fit into your stay.

Bass Fishing at Lake Toho

234x60 Triple Your Catch Rate
Lake Tohopekaliga, otherwise known as Lake Toho Florida is a tremendous place if you want to go out and catch a massive Bass on your trip to Orlando, Florida. Located only 26 miles from International Drive Orlando, you will feel in another world as you try your hand at tempting a Big Mouth Bass out of cover with your lure. With only a few homes built around the lake mainly owned by Cattle Farm owners the Lake and it's surrounds are a true thing of beauty and provide everyone with a taste of the wild Florida everyone enjoys so much.

The Lake itself spans 42 miles in circumference and holds the record for a one-day catch in a professional Bass tournament - 45lb 2 oz. Most of the action revolves around lures, however on their day dead baits can guarantee a big Bass or two. Due to the thick vegatation that the Bass tend to use for cover alot of Anglers tend to use weedless Lures working in the top four feet of water. As with Rivers in England, some of the most exciting times on the bank is provided when the Angler can see the creature he or she is after chasing the lure or fly, and although most lakes in Florida provide excellent top water action, few if any, come close to Lake Toho Florida Bass Fishing.

Lake Kissimme

Located Minutes away from Walt Disney World Resort Florida and covering over 38'000 acres, Lake Kissimme offers excellent angling to rival Lake Toho (both renowned for being top class Florida Bass Lakes) and although famous as a Largemouth Bass venue, the pressures of angling is very minimal. This is due partly to it's large expanse of water and it is entirely possible to catch a Bass of a ripe old age who has never seen a Lure before. Due to the size and large expanse of the lake it's a good idea to purchase or download a lake Kissimmee map pirior to visiting. As good as the action can get on Lake Kissimme Florida it is more famous for the cow camp where visitors can learn about 1876 era Florida cowboys.

Live baiting, although seeming harsh to some, is a fantastic method to use for Lake Kissimme Fishing, most Anglers will catch using Shiners on the edge of thick vegetation, often bringing feeding Bass out and inducing their hunting instincts.

Visitors to lake Kissimmee also have a great chance of catching Crappie, Bluegrill and Redear Sunfish.

Kissimmee is also the adopted home of the Barramundi, a legendary Australian sport species. Until recently, North American anglers who hooked one of these ferocious fighters had to travel down under to do so. Now you can do battle with one of these beauties at private ponds right in Kissimmee. Before planning your trip why not have a look on line for the latest Kissimmee fishing reports.

Shark Fishing in the Florida Keys

Review Your Orlando cannot think of anything more exciting on your Florida holiday. Logistically speaking the Florida Keys are a 7 hour drive from Orlando so a flight is a more feasible option, however the experts here can assure you the trip is worth it.

Apart from being one of the most beautiful places in the world, the Florida keys provide the Angler with the opportunity to stalk the greatest predators in the seas. Crystal clear waters provide this opportunity and after setting your chum line up you can simply relax (as if) awaiting your first sight of one of the many Sharks to reside in the waters.
